Like a bunch of cute little animals let loose in the dark and silent rooms of a concert hall. It sounds so light and a bit accidentally and chaotic, as if the mice are running through the piano, squeeching happily, racoons playing with the drum-set and birds hopping on the cymbals, and a cat on a bike, going in circles ringing the bicycle bell. Which of course is an impression that dissolves in the course of time, there are structures evolving, just the lightness never comes down. This music doesn’t need a heavy beat to stick, it just floats around your head, making you all fizzy.

S-s-s-s-s-sssseeeriously, you people. If you need a description for this by now, you are hilarious. No, just kidding, and a warm welcome to all WeirdAndWired-N00bs. It’s Helico Bacter (D’uh!) and he’s not getting any younger, so his playground gets bigger, the beats smarter, the skills skillier. Non-straight beats rarely sounded so straight.

No need for umbrellas these days, this acid rain will hit your head anyway. Spooky, gloomy, raw noises rain down like bricks. Every single drop will find his way through your cranium; heading for the cores of your cerebreal lobes to throw a wicked party. “Hello braincells, I brought pink cookies and weird herbs that grew under my bed, try some”…you can hear them sing. Ok, sorry for the stupid description. Here are the facts:
GENUS INKASSO aka Joris J and ADDITIV joined forces and present their first WaW release. Four tracks of awesome weirdness or weird awesomeness or just some of the coolest noise on the net. That’s it.

Kanukanakina, a music project by Miguel Pipa, developed from circuit‐bent instruments, from recycled hand-made instruments and experiments with everyday life objects in a process of integration with convencional electronic instruments, creating unexpected soundscapes.
.
Klaustrophobic. Schizophrenic. Minimalistic noises from the darkest depths of a dying cyborgs hard-drive. Strangulated sounds, floating, imperturbable patterns coated in the muck of your own dead braincells. Scratching bleeps in the heights of frequencies, which can only be described as mean. Not harsh, not wild, not loud. Mean. Sickening tension. Gloomily roaming Distortion. The EEG of a divinely unknown creature, ridden by incredible guilt, turned into sound.

There is a hoover at your party, chatting up pretty people, hitting legs, getting drunk and blowing up all the forgotten awesomeness it sucked up during daytime. Take it for a spin, the plug must be somewhere near your ears.

It’s summer, it’s hot. The world brushes past in a blur and from somewhere bright sounds lull you into happy inactivity. Then some beats come sneaking out of the flowery meadows of light-footed sound… Take a stroll now, break into the undergrowth, dance to piano-melodies, unpretentious and carefree as some things, kids say (the non-annoying kind of kid). When some playful pressure is built up, fight some squirrels, and let their tails go when it’s kind-of released…until the last track accompanies you in a soft and joyous way into the night. Sweet dreams you all.

Entering a forsaken playground by twilight. The swing is still in motion, there are some buckets in the sand-box, maybe a lost green sock lying around. The carousel is playing melodies, if you listen carefully, you can hear the bats swarming above your head. The monkey bars start to resemble a giant theremin and the memory of noisy action still lingers over the place, making you skip. Everything is covered in eerie euphoria, stringing it together: the music-box sounds, the trumpets, the orchestral, the Pop, the excitement, the freedom, the order, the deconstruction. Do you know the feeling, when you drank a coke, and you have to sneeze, and the carbonic acid is in your nose? And the great feeling, when it stops, and your nose is dribbling a bit and you start laughing? This is it. In sound.

It’s sound under pressure, call it „cold funk“ if you wish. Like a robot-fly trapped under a jar, buzzing between your ears.Could be the soundtrack to a computergame for a computer that needs to be invented yet. It will possibly have a human brain. And will shoot lasers. And your mouse will burn under your fingers. Best played by guys in suits and simple glasses, who are able to tell the dirtiest jokes you’ve ever heard. Despite the fact, that this music is not funny, on the contrary: it’s seriously cool. You will want to be caught listening to this.

The artist formally known as MitHra as you’ve never heard him before. Well, you could say that for more than half of his uncountable albums, since he reinvents himself constantly new, and doubles, triples, quadruples himself.. but that’s not the point. It’s nearly impossible to nail the sound of this huge album (may I say: it’s a butt-load of music, and a big butt, and a fine one at that) to some easy-to-recognize buzz-words, but all in all, I think, I can trace some sifgnificant traits. The first half is dominated by an almost „cool“ sound. Cool, as in jazzy, as a categorical adjective, not a judging one. Obviously. Almost minimalistic beats, surrounded by clouds of gloom, and dangerous softness. In the second part, the tension rises: more pressure, more breakbeats. And although this album is really long, he never loses track, coherence is the key, patience is not required for this one. You’ll hear what we mean.
